  1. Alright, it is time for some serious work here.

Smoking causes (I won’t say it may cause), various cancers, it has more than 2000 chemicals and it constantly affects your performance, body, health and brain.

I smoked for 17 years (which was more than half of my life) when I quit. It was my 7th attempt to quit and I had tried pretty much everything out there before.

What I did is something very unique but it worked for me and I just can’t smoke any more. Even if I get tempted, I just don’t feel like smoking and breaking my promise to myself. I call this method – the Self Awareness Method.

A detailed explanation can be found at http://www.how-to-quit-cigarettes.com along with some success stories and a day by day reports from smokers to successfully quit. (A recommended read).

While still a smoker, I started watching videos on youtube on effects of smoking, lung cancer, throat cancer, etc and continued smoking. Remember, I don’t want to watch anything that is not true. Only facts and make yourself aware of the effects of smoking. Understand how EVERYONE who smokes gets affected. This makes your subconscious mind come out of the illusion that you are special and smoking does not do anything to you.

Additionally start reading about the benefits of quitting smoking and after you learn about each benefit, take a moment to think about how would you like your life with that benefit.

(all this information is available at the site listed in the sources below).

So even though you are smoking and you are now more aware of the negatives of smoking and the positives of quitting, you will seriously start disliking cigarettes. Then follow the plan, pick a quit date, get patches to support your cravings for the first week and just quit. Tell yourself that you will not smoke for one week and even if you fail to quit, you will only start again after one week.

So quit for one week and every day start noticing the benefits of quitting and you will see your control becomes stronger as each day passes and you will become stronger (not weaker).

Since I feel blessed that I was able to finally quit smoking, I try and help people stay off it. So if you have any questions, you can contact me through the site below.

  2. cold turkey and chew gum, a lot of it, plain or mint bubbleyum in the small pieces, its got the sugars that probably can quench your needs. its called the 3 day hump thats the hardest, just get over that last day and the nicotine should finally disperse from ur body

  3. I know you’ve tried cold turkey before and failed, but maybe back then you didn’t have the WILL to quit. Cold turkey is the cheapest, quickest, and easiest way to quit. My husband and I both quit cold turkey (not at the same time) after smoking for 15-20 years, 1-2 packs a day!
The first few days are hard. But if you chew gum, or suck on hard candies, and have some WILLPOWER, you can do it! I know you can! Just remember how proud it will feel to say, "I don’t smoke."

So take your cigs, wet them and throw them away. You have the will, so have the willpower! That special someone will enjoy kissing you so much more!!
Bless you and JUST DO IT! πŸ™‚

  4. I’ve tried just about every method there is out there with zero success.
Gum patches and all the other just did not cut it for me, not to mention cold turkey which was the hardest, I even tried the electric cig and it is just no match to the real thing.
Eventually a friend told me about a NLP method, check out this article: http://www.squidoo.com/Not_Smoking_Any_More
It’s the one that got me off the cigs and smoke free for GOOD even without gaining weight! πŸ™‚

    Good luck kicking the habit!
    J.
