  1. Outstanding Joel! In my opinion, the admitting drug addiction tip is core. My name is John and I’m a REAL drug addict. Do you see yourself as a drug addict, every bit as hooked as any alcoholic or meth addict? Accepting true chemical dependency provides two immediate benefits. It greatly simplifies the rules for successful recovery. In fact, there’s really only one, that one equals all, that lapse equals relapse. Second, it destroys the need for the scores of use excuses we invented.

  2. It’s not easy – but it is simple: just don’t put a cigarette in your mouth and set fire to it.
It doesn’t need motivation – it just needs commitment – no nicotine today. Too hard? Read Deborah Scott’s story at whyquit dot com – quitting ain’t harder than that. It gets easier too. Still not convinced you can do this? Trust me, you can. Anyone can. I smoked about a pack a day for 23 years. I’ve been clean now for 3.5 months, and I’m never going back. I love being free.

  3. Thanks for all your help, Joel. You are truly dedicated and you make so much difference to the smokers of the world that want and need to quit. I have been free of nocotine for the last 20 days 18 hours; not smoked 540 ciggs; saving £164.77 which is 5g 400mg of tar NOT inhaled!!! The tar always amazes me. Over 5.5gms in 3 weeks!! But I’ve smoked for over 42yrs…. thats a hell of a lot of tar. I cant do this any more, but its you that has made me think of the whole package not just 1 ciggy xxx

  4. What I mean is its far easier to lie to ourself if we say “I’m only having 1, I can always quit again after that. Just that 1 or even half of 1, just to get me thru this 1 time! But you KNOW it wont be JUST 1. Joel, its you that fixes this in our brains, If we have 1, then we take the whole kit and kaboodle!! We take all those others we dont want, we take the cost, the smells, the cough, the teeth stains, finger stains, and skin that’s older, papery, wrinkly beofre it’s time. And all the rest. x

  5. Thanks so much! Btw at 13:20 it sounds like you say “but just remember, you CAN’T quit smoking” …that just cracks me up, thinking the whole vid was a satire mockery, lol. But see, that’s the defeatist in me trying to keep me weak and addicted. We CAN quit! Thanks again 🙂

  6. I was a smoker for 14 years!
Your website and videos helped me quit smoking, now nearly 2 years ago!
    I never said THANK YOU!!!
You helped me to save my life and over $ 5100 !!

  7. To quit smoking is the easiest part about smoking. I’ve done it a hundred times in my 30+years of experience. I always thought i was being funny whenever i said this to people. Now, i know the joke’s on me. Im stopping. Im still in the process. COLD TURKEY it is. I’VE STOPPED! this is my second day. It isn’t all that bad. the urge is really there. the triggers keep pounding my brains but i can control it. Im not too sure how my body will take it, but my mind is all set now. i can make it!

  8. just saw the video, joel. Thanks for your sincere concern and unending effort for people like me.
This proves how people from all over the globe can actually help each other when they put their hearts and minds to it. im still struggling. im doing it. second day now and im not quitting my quit. will try your suggestions like the juices and probably take short walks for a change of scenery to battle the triggers. well, wish me luck! you’re a good man, Joel!

  9. damn i can use a cigarette now lmao but he is right its just a waste of money and it killed more people than any other drug thats crazy and its legal smh this country is so ass backwards

  10. I was fortunate enough to stumble across Joels videos during a cold turkey quit attempt in February 2011. I have not smoked ever since – avoiding 18,069 cigs – scary!

After smoking 20+ years, I am now totally nicotine free. I rarely even think about smoking, and when I do its usually to think how great it is to be free.

Thanks Joel for your unbiassed & honest approach, and for anyone considering quitting – you need education to beat your addiction, not patches & gum to support it! – good luck!

  11. thank you, you are awesome , and you gave me alot to think about
