You’ve only been smoking for 3 years mate, it’d be a different story if it had been 30 years.
I forget the exact figures, but certainly within 5 or 10 years, your risks of cancer and other respiratory diseases etc. will be exactly the same as people who have never smoked. Quit now, before the damage is done.
It takes depending on the amount you smoke between 7 to 20 years to get the smokers symptoms where you have a decreased lung capacity and increased level of immune related syndromes.
Whomever suggested that it was too late for you to stop with any benefit ought to be shot since he or she was in a way making sure that you were wasting your life even further by making sure that you died from lung cancer. ¨

Seriously you have everyt´hing to gain from quitting smoking. If you have problems with quitting then switch to patches to take care of the nicotine addiction and then switch to chew tobacco or snus (www.swedsnus.com).
If you want to smoke til there is no return then I will have to remind you of the fact that there are those that have smoked for more then 50 years and still made it till they were 90. Puffing away with little in the way of lungs admittedly but still.
There is nothing to gain from thinking that there may be a point of no return.
Stop cold turkey,
Try cutting straws in 1/2 & suck on it (smoker’s are used to taking more air in than non-smoker’s).
Eat celery & carrot sticks.
Drink lots of water, especially when you have a craving
Suck on sugarless hard candies, chew on sugarless gum.
Thats A-C for you, I used E-cigs to nurse off the poison, worked better than all the pills/gum/patches I tried because it is something about the act of actually smoking not just the nicotine. Thank god for gizmos
