I have recently found out I have something wrong with my heart they think its right sided ventricle and they say I need to quit smoking. Been smoking now for 15 yrs. tried to quit cold turkey don’t have enough will power to do this. Can anyone give me some ideas that medicaid will cover or home remedies, Thanks.
Hi Angie..
not sure about medicaid, but its possible in many states to get free quit smoking aids, as well as phone counseling…try calling 1-800-quit now.. not sure about any "home remedies other than cold turkey..
i can however tell you what worked for me.. and that was joining a support group, and following their advise.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally, and online… online meetings are as close as your computer, and your welcome to attend ,while still planning a quit.. that is still smoking, i too have heart problems, and quitting smoking was probably the best health decision i ever made.. good luck!!
Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.
The best way to find out what your state pays for is to call the doctor and ask. The medical assistant that answers the phone should be able to answer your question. Because this problem is related to heart problems, they just may pay willingly. I hope you can stop. I know how hard it is. I have tried to stop smoking for ten years, and I can’t seem to do it.
save your money and just quit smoking
