How hard is it to quit smoking?

I don’t smoke, I’m just curious. How hard is it to quit smoking? I know Nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs, apparently. Please, people who’ve tried to quit (whether you’ve failed or succeeded), what’s it like? Why is it so hard? What’s it like to quit smoking?

  1. its all mental, its in the persons mind, when distracted the average smoker doesn’t need anything, but the minute they get frustrated and don’t know what to do with their hands or they don’t want to be in the room, they seem to "need" the nicotine, thats why its usually easy for people to quit for someone they care about, girlfriend or family 🙂 so support is a must for people who are trying to buy their way to having lung cancer

  2. Dono, but Im finding it a challenge…Im Ok when by myself , I dont need to as aften, but when Im with my mates its just chain smoking ae. The hardest time is like after the first week of quitting – when I just get a strong urge for nicotine..should get some of that gum

  3. It’s easy if you WANT to quit. Every day I see women find out they’re pregnant, so they just quit. Or, sadly, people find out they have heart disease or lung cancer, and they quit immediately.
My husband and I both quit cold turkey after smoking 1-2 packs a day for over 15 years. Actually he quit 9 months before me, because I really didn’t want to quit. Then I did, so I did. No biggee! Really! That was over 10 years ago! 🙂
