If you have "will power" enough to quit "cold turkey" then yes!, it’s a great idea.
If not. Read http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/
The site isn’t "elegant" but its contents is ok.
Probobly not. You’ll probobly end up starting back up because of your body’s sudden loss of nicotine. I would try using a patch or chewing gum along with stopping for good. In now time, you’ll be cold turkey.
Good. The majority of people who are successful to stop smoking do it cold turkey. Only when I did it cold turkey was I finally able to quit. That is true of every person I know who has been able to quit and stay quit.
Stopping smoking right away, or "Cold Turkey" is a great way to do it. There are no dangerous side effects from smoking cessation, only good ones! So, quit as soon as you can, and seriously, most people who succeed at quitting smoking have quit cold turkey. Anyway, if you go back to smoking, don’t give up on quitting, people get better at quitting the more they try, so try until it sticks! You can do it! Anyone can, it is hard though. Good luck!
the good news is that i now have been quit for over 5 years.. i quit trying to quit alone, and joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line.. on line voice meetings are he as close as your computer, and you can attend while still smoking, before actually attempting a quit.. however you decide to quit good luck, there is simply no wrong way to quit!!

Wash all your clothes, air the place out vacuum, throw away ashtrays and clean everything and be stronger than a smoker.
