I take medication for bi-polar and I actually lost a little weight. I’m on the thin side of normal.

    I take:

    Geodon 40 mg (for mania)
Lamictal 200 mg (for mood stabilizer)
    Abilify 10 mg (for depression)

That med mix took a long time to find… but I do recommend taking medication for your condition.

I’ve been "crazy" too and put in a mental hospital, but I have never had a problem when I take Geodon which is for mania like that.

Good luck finding a med mix that works for you! I think that’s the best solution because then you can have the best of both worlds… a lucid mind and a good body.

(Not sure about stop smoking advice though.)

i’m bipolar also. wellbutrin works great for alot of people. now, personally, i just started taking it, so i cant say for sure if it will work for me (or you). but that’s a very popular one out there. it sux tho, b/c when you’re on it (or most SSRI’s) you can’t take any weight loss meds. so, its a give and take.

try truehope.com and see if you can go the natural route. also find a supportive counselor who believes in going this method of healing.
